Goodbye Queen

Goodbye Queen

Fifteen was so long ago,
Like someone else’s years.
So full of wonder,
Only second to my fears.

And time was no factor,
Didn’t pay it no never mind,
Looking for that first love,
A girl I could call mine.

Just a young man trying to run fast enough,
To lose the boy that remained,
But the childhood wouldn’t last long enough,
As I watched the world change.

That March 13th I remember,
Minnesota winter fades to spring,
Family and friends come together,
To say goodbye to the queen.
Say goodbye to the queen.

Some things are just too much,
For a young man to feel,
As I looked for a distraction,
Anything less than real,

They say things happen for the better,
But I just don’t believe, and I
Don’t think everything that’s broken,
Mends itself with time,

That March 13th I remember,
Minnesota winter fading to spring,
Family and friends come together,
To say goodbye to the queen.
Say goodbye to the queen.

Everything fell apart,
You were the glue within our hearts,
Now it’s all torn apart.

That march 13th I remember….
